MIB3 Movie Night with MIB Strawberries and Alien Party Plate, #SEEMIB3

I was planning a little Men In Black 3 party for the weekend after Thanksgiving. Remember, I told you about it last month?  Well, it went pretty well, considering half the guests canceled.
Those of us who were not sick, had a good time stuffing our faces and watching the MIB3. It was extra special because we got to see the movie early, before it’s released on DVD!

In my last post, I mentioned that I pre-purchased the MIB3 DVD at WalMart and with that deal, I got a chance to see the movie two weeks before the release date. I got the MIB3 digital bundle where you get the movie in the mail as it’s released on November 30, 2012 AND you can stream the movie through Vudu starting November 16, 2012!
It was really hard to wait for the party, before we could watch the movie. I guess we will never know if hubby or I cheated and watched it early. Nope, we will never know!
Since I had my sister staying with us after the Thanksgiving, I also invited my mom and a couple of friends for our movie night. It was extra special because we also had our decorating party the night before with my sister, so it was nice and pretty. We were also celebrating my sister’s upcoming birthday! She turned a big 1-2 yesterday! Yes, 12 already! (I got me a babysitter now… hint, hint)

She actually already saw the movie in the theater but did really good about not spoiling any surprises for us. It was great watching the movie early and very easy to set up. It was our first time, streaming the movie through Vudu, so naturally, we made some mistakes. Number one, I redeemed the movie code on my laptop…hence, I could not watch it through PS3 as originally planned. But we are scrappy, we just hooked up the laptop to the TV and we were good to go!
Streaming the movie is very easy. All you have to do is sign in to your Vudu account and go to”watch movies” then to “my vudu”. If you pre-ordered the DVD and followed redeeming instructions, the movie will be there waiting for you. You will just click on the movie and how you want to watch it!

I made some themed snacks for our movie night. I made some hot chocolate, MIB chocolate covered strawberries and an alien finger foods platter. We also had a bunch of cookies from our decorating party and my sister’s birthday cheesecake. I will be sharing the cheesecake within a couple of days!!
MIB chocolate covered strawberries were awesome! All I did was first, wash and dry the strawberries. Then I melted white chocolate morsels and semi-sweet chocolate morsels in a microwave, on half the power for 1-1.5 minutes. Melt the chocolate one at a time because you will need white before semi-sweet. Dip half of the strawberry in white chocolate and let it harden. Then dip the other side of the strawberry in semi-sweet chocolate, overlapping with white. I used a tiny brush to brush on the ties.
I made some pigs in a blanket and cucumber sandwiches for our party platter. (Note the marble bread to go with the MIB theme). To make the tentacles, I used thinly sliced red bell pepper. We had a great movie night!
