Football Party with BBQ Chicken Sliders and Candy Apple Fruit Spread, #MealsTogether

How was everyone’s Big Football Night? We had a great family party. I love throwing parties but they are a lot of work. I used to make everything from scratch and I was stuck in the kitchen since the second I woke up to the moment the party started. With time,  I started coming over to the dark side…the “half-homemade” side. I learned from Sandra Lee that if you get a few pre-made ingredients and put them together right, no one will ever notice and you won’t be tired before the party even starts. Exactly for this reason, I turned to Tyson for help. I’ve used their pre-cooked chicken before and they are a great help when putting a party together AND everyone loves them!

So I made some awesome BBQ Chicken Slides and Candy Apple Fruit Spread, it took me less than an hour to get everything on the table. I made the coleslaw the night before so it gets nice and juicy. I baked the chicken while making the dip. That way, all I had to do before the party is slice the apples and put the sliders together. This is one of the the most effortless parties I’ve had so far. I had plenty of time to have fun before the football game.
The little guys got to play on grandpa’s bike. He has been into bikes lately, even tries to ride his little toy bike. It’s a lot funnier when you know that the bike is only 5 inches tall. Since I finished cooking and taking the pictures early, we took him to the garage to play on the big boy bike. He had a blast!
There was some fun for mommy too! Mommy got to play with a new camera! Whoooo….still feel the rush! My father-in-law just got a new Nikon D800 and wow! Loving that camera! I forgot to bring my D80 with me so I borrowed his to take pictures of the food. Seriously, if he didn’t know where I lived, I would have walked out with it! I know my hubby would back me up with that decision.
Ok..ok…I’ll shut up and share the recipes!
BBQ Chicken Sliders
Tyson BBQ chicken tenders
Sharp white cheddar cheese
Whole wheat slider buns
~ Warm up the chicken tenders and put together the sliders! Easy and delicious!
Green Apple Milky Way Fruit Spread

2 8-oz cream cheese
2 tbs vanilla yogurt
3 medium green apples
1 1/2 cup of chopped Milky Way candy (refrigerate first)
1/2 cup of pecans
2 tsp sugar
Chocolate bar, plain, for topping
~Peel and chop the apples.
~ Do make sure to refrigerate the candy so it cuts easy and stays together as mixing.
~Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Shape into a football and use shaved chocolate to form the stitches.
