How are you enjoying the baseball season?!
We are always enjoying the season. As a baseball family, baseball is everywhere for us. From fantasy baseball, to watching the games, to playing catch, to dreaming of coaching the little league team someday. I’m not the one dreaming though, hubs has been dreaming of that since the day they told him it was going to be a boy during our sonogram appointment. (There is a chance that it’s been his dream even before that.) He used to coach little league when he was still in college but grown up life doesn’t leave much time for it these days.
Hubs used to play ball since t-ball to college, until getting injured in college. After that, he only plays for fun and coaches. Not to mention watching baseball almost religiously, and if our team makes it into the play offs, all bets are off. Needless to say, I married into a big baseball family and I’m pretty sure that I even signed something at the wedding, stating to be a die hard baseball fan until the day I die. I’m sure it was secretly worked into our vows somewhere.
Even though our little man is a little too young (and not as interested in playing ball as he is in watching it), his first toy was a ball and a bat and he is called “little slugger” too often. But he is still a little young for the team, so watching non-stop baseball games with dad it is.
While we enjoy game-time in the comfort of our home, it’s always a good idea to whip up some snacks. Rice Krispies Treats® come in quite handy for a quick and tasty snack. My little slugger loves them and calls them “marshmallow cookies.” I think it’s way too cute to explain to him what they really are, so I make fun treats and let him call hem whatever he wants.
These S’Mores Strawberry Rice Krispies Treats Kebabs are so easy and unbelievably delicious. Best part is that you can easily put them together for a game day at home or to take with you to the practice. **If you will be serving these to young kids, I do recommend that you trim the sharp edges with scissors right after adding Rice Krispies Treats® squares and strawberries into the skewer.**
Rice Krispies Treats® also have something special for all the baseball fans out there. They will help give one lucky winner the chance to play a game of catch with Cal Ripken, during the 2015 MLB All-Star Week. So be sure to pick up a box of specially-marked Rice Krispies Treats® by July 1, 2015, and enter the promotion code at KFR.com/CatchWithCal for your chance to play catch with Cal Ripken, Jr. How exciting is that?!
