Prepare your grill and heat it before cooking the burgers. (Set your coals on the lowest bar, so they are not too close to the top.)
Wrap three slices of bacon around each sausage patty, tucking in loose ends. Brush each side of wrapped burgers with some vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Cook burgers on each side (with grill lid covered), for about 5 to 7 minutes of each side.
For chipotle mayo: you can pulse all ingredients in a blender to mix or you can mince chipotle as finely as possibly and mix all ingredients in a small bowl.
Spread some chipotle mayo on each bun and layer lettuce, tomatoes and cooked sausage burger.
