Orange Creamsicle French Toast is a beautiful breakfast of French toast stuffed with orange kissed cream cheese and topped with warm orange maple syrup!
Slice the French bread slices in the middle but not all the way through.
In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, 1 tsp sugar and 1/2 tsp orange zest until well combined.
In a shallow, wide bowl, whisk eggs, heavy cream, vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp orange zest and sugar until smooth.
Spread the cream cheese mixture in the middle of the bread slices, evenly dividing between all slices.
Dip the bread in egg mixture and then press lightly to let some egg mixture soak in.
Cook the French Toast on medium heat for about 3-5 minutes on each side.
Meanwhile, combine fresh orange juice, maple syrup and vanilla extract in a small sauce pot. Bring to simmer and take off heat. Serve with French Toast.
