Ingredients

  • About 2 Tbsp vegetable oil for cooking
  • 1 package of Johnsonville ground sausage use mild, hot, or sweet
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1 large green bell pepper
  • Salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Dice onion and set aside. Take out seeds and membrane of the bell pepper and dice it as well.
  2. Preheat a large cooking pan over medium-high heat. Add oil to the pan.
  3. Add onions and pepper and saute until the veggies start to get some golden sear. Season the veggies with a little bit of salt. Lower the heat to medium.
  4. Add ground sausage and break it up as much as you can. Cover and cook sausage until just done, stirring and breaking up clumps often. (There will be juices from the sausage, do not drain it off.)
  5. Cut cream cheese into 6 or so pieces and throw them in the pan. Slowly stir in cream cheese with sausage and veggies until completely combined.
  6. Take off heat and stir in mozzarella cheese.
  7. Serve with your choice of chips, pretzels, or crackers.
