This Peach Bourbon Smash gets its deep, rich flavor from fresh peaches that are seared before being muddled to create caramelized natural sugars of the fruit. Combined with the warmth of bourbon, a touch of maple syrup, and a bright squeeze of fresh lemon juice, this cocktail is beautifully balanced and incredibly smooth.
Preheat a small pan over medium heat and sear the peach halves until deep golden brown.
Place the seared peach halves on the cutting board and let it cool for a couple of minutes.
Chop the peach halves and add it to the cocktail shaker.
Add lemon juice and maple syrup to the cocktail shaker as well and muddle the peaches to release all the juices.
Add some ice and bourbon to the shaker and shake for a few seconds.
Strain the the cocktail into 2 glasses with some ice. Expert tip: if you prefer a smooth cocktail rather than having any pieces of fruit, you can double strain it through a fine mesh strainer!
Notes
