Who is excited about the new The Amazing Spider-Man coming out on November 9th? Only 5 more days and you can have a fun Spider-Man family night too.
I got my DVD in the mail a few days ago and planned a fun movie preview night with the family. I decided to go hang out with my mom and sister for a movie and pizza. Just the girls, no boys allowed! Well, one boy, but he was playing with his new Spider-Man cars all night.
While shopping at WalMart for the family night party supplies, I stopped by the toy department to play with the new Web Slinger App and get the little man a new Spider-Man toy. He barely made it out of the store before he made me open the new cars to play with.
I didn’t feel like cooking a lot for the family night, so I picked up some Marketside pizza and berries to go with the Spider-Man cookies. Another plus, Marketside pizza box is a trigger point for the Web Slinger app. I also minced some pepperoni and laid it out in a shape of a spider.
When we got home, we wanted to playing around with the app. We didn’t get a chance to play with the trigger points at the store because they failed to put up any trigger points. Booo…hissss!
My mom actually didn’t know what an app is or what it does. So my sister and I had to show her how much fun is this app. We downloaded the app from iTunes and put the pizza box and the Spider-Man DVD next to each other. You can also do the pizza box and DVD box separately but its more fun together because the Spider-Man fights the Lizard. The app is interactive, you can press the red dots to have Spider-Man and Lizard move around.
Another part of the Web Slinger app is the comic book. You can star in your own Spider-Man comic book. I look pretty weird as a Spider-Man, don’t I?
The Amazing Spider-Man Movie Night
For our movie night, I made some themed goodies. I remembered the amazing cookies that I made from the February issue of Food Network magazine and I thought it was perfect for the party. I made these Red Velvet sandwich cookies with cream cheese coconut filling (colored blue). I made the web from buttercream frosting. I will be more that happy to share the recipe in the next post, if you ask with a puppy face and a smile!!
I also made the spider web berry platter. It’s very easy and so good! I just sliced some strawberries and layered them around blackberries (blueberries are out of season). Then I mixed 1/2 cup of honey cream cheese and 2 tbs vanilla yogurt together and drew a spider web over the berries using a piping bag.
Quick and delicious movie night is all ready. Now to find a red drink to go with our themed night. Sparkling cranberry juice will be perfect! We are all ready to watch our movie.
Shhhh…the movie is STARTING!
