Chocolate Waffles

So, do you think my boys are spoiled yet? No? Just wait and see what they woke up to this Friday morning!
Chocolate Waffles!!!!
How much more spoiled can they get?
I saw this recipe in my new Food magazine and decided that life is too short not to enjoy this wonderful creation! Of course, this is not an every day breakfast, but why not indulge in something chocolaty once in a blue moon?! I even had half a waffle myself and it was really good.
I hope you will spoil your family with this chocolaty goodness too!

(I did change a couple of small ingredients to out taste)
5 tbs unsalted butter, melted
2 cups flour
1/2 tbs baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3 large eggs (room temperature)
1 cup of milk (room temperature)
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract

For topping:
powder sugar
chocolate syrup

1. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, milk, vanilla and chocolate syrup until well combined

2. Whisk in the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

3. Let the batter stand for about 10 minutes, baking powder needs a little time.
4. Grease your waffle maker lightly with some cooking spray and cook waffles according to your waffle maker’s specifications.

5. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and dust with some powder sugar. Top it off with some strawberries and serve!!

Yum! Dessert for breakfast! I saw a recipe yesterday that actually used brownie-type ingredients in the waffle-maker so they were pretty much brownies in the shape of a waffle!
