Tasty little sliders made with turkey breast, cranberry sauce and Asiago cheese. These sliders are served warm on pretzel slider buns.
I’m totally obsessed with pretzel bread lately. Since it became popular, I see all kinds of burger buns, hot dog buns and slider buns in pretzel bread sold at the grocery stores. Especially at Whole Foods store. We love it! It’s so much tastier than regular bread. I don’t even buy anything but pretzel buns and brioche buns for our burgers and sandwiches anymore. (I even have a couple extra packs in the freezer just in case.) So when I was deciding on a turkey sandwich to use up those those Thanksgiving leftovers, pretzel slider buns seemed like the perfect compliment.
From my experience, cranberry sauce and turkey are the one ones that seems to be leftover the most, especially the turkey. So I always make sandwiches with it for lunch the next day. Some of our favorite sandwiches are simple Thanksgiving Leftover Sliders and cheesy, gooey Turkey Cranberry Brie Grilled Cheese. I decided to update my leftover sliders and make them with flavorful rosemary Asiago cheese, pretzel buns and serve them warm. Wow, these little sandwiches were packed with deliciousness!
But you know, you don’t actually have to serve them only on the weekend after Thanksgiving. All you need is a can of cranberry sauce and turkey breast. You can simply coat turkey breast with your favorite herb seasoning and roast it in the oven until done. (Roast time will depend on thickness of meat.) You can cook turkey ahead of time and just store it in the refrigerator until ready to make these sandwiches.
- About .75 lb turkey breast meat
- 4 oz Asiago cheese
- 2 Tbsp cranberry sauce
- 4 pretzel slider buns
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cut slider buns in half and spread about ½ tablespoon on cranberry sauce on the four bottom slices.
- Slice cooked turkey breast and cheese into thin slices. Divide turkey among the four bottom slices of buns and top with slices of cheese.
- Place bottom and top buns on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes, until cheese is nicely melted.
- Place top bun on top of cheese and serve right away.
