It’s summer vacation time!!
Well, it’s not really a vacation but more of a three day getaway. A couple of times a year, my husband and I drive little man to grandma’s and take a couple of days to ourselves. In our ten years of marriage, we learned that it’s important to have date nights and to get away for a couple of days by ourselves. That is why we feel extremely grateful to have both of our parents just an hour away. Now, we shall drop little guy off to hang out with grandmas and off to the beach we go!
So while we’re enjoying some sun and ocean breeze, enjoy this delicious chocolate-covered cherry milkshake! This milkshake is perfect for sticking two straws in and enjoying it with your significant other, high school style.
Over the last month, I’ve been noticing more and more gorgeous cherries at the store AND they are on sale at least once a week. We all know just how expensive cherries are, so having them go on sale every week has been awesome. I’ve been swimming in cherries, snacking on them throughout the day, and making lots of tasty cherry treats.
It’s great to be able to buy cherries without going broke after one bag but that means you have lots of lots of cherries to pit. Even if you have to pit some cherries for your little kids and not even for the recipe, it’s still a lot of work. I HIGHLY recommend getting a cherry pitter. I’ve had it for a few years and I can’t imagine life without it now. Trust me, it’s time and sanity saver.
