Ahhh, only one more week before Mother’s Day!

As I promised earlier, I am having some of my bloggy friends entertain you and they are doing a great job! Today, I have Carrie from Frugal Foodies Mama keep you company! Check out her site after you are done reading and saving this recipe, she has a lot of great recipes there!

Can I get a show of hands from everyone who is ready to sip something refreshing and fruity on their back decks and patios already? I think I have been ready since about two months ago! It seemed like winter was never going to end here. One day we had sunshine, 70 degree weather, & flip flops. And then a day later, it was snowing… again.

Now that the temperatures have warmed up and we have started getting the back deck ready for cookout season, the wheels are starting to turn with delicious pitchers of yumminess perfect for spring and summer that I can whip up for my guests.
One of my favorites is this super simple Basil Infused Strawberry Lemonade.

But before I get to the recipe for that, let me first say hello and introduce myself to you all… 🙂

My name is Carrie, & I have been blogging over at Frugal Foodie Mama since January of 2011.  Most often you will find me there sharing my favorite recipes, my antics as a stay-at-home mama to a toddler and a teenager (yes, you read that right- a two year old & a 15 year old!), & my tips for how I have managed to remain a foodie on our single income budget.

Last summer I became obsessed with making my own flavorful infused simple syrups.  Simple syrups are such an easy way to sweeten and add flavor to your favorite beverages be it iced tea, mojitos, and of course, lemonade.  For this Basil Infused Strawberry Lemonade recipe, I used a homemade basil infused simple syrup…

Carrie, loving this tasty beverage creation! Our weather is the same way over here in Utah. I would be so content if it was 100 degrees and sunshine every day… but I’ll be just happy with this fun lemonade!
