Beautiful dessert martini that tastes like a classic strawberry dessert. This Strawberry Shortcake Martini is made with cake vodka, strawberry liqueur, strawberry kiwi juice, and whipped cream vodka. Only four ingredients to get this gorgeous cocktail. It would perfect to serve at the end of a romantic dinner, for a girls night, Mother’s Day, or just to celebrate the end of the week.

Some more cocktails that will compliment a girls night and a romantic night alike are my Flirtini and Cosmopolitan Champagne Cocktail. Of course, you can’t forget a Mango Slushie that makes a perfect refreshment any time.

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE MARTINI

Dessert martini is always a pleasant way to end dinner out or a romantic dinner at home. Strawberry Shortcake Martini is smooth and sweet, it will is satisfy any dessert craving.

I wanted to create a strawberry cocktail that would make a perfect Valentine’s Day drink, Mother’s Day drink, or girls night cocktail any time of the year. Some strawberry liqueurs are seasonal so they can’t be used any time of the year. That’s why I made sure to use ingredients that can be found year-round.

This cocktail has four easy ingredients that are widely available in most liquor stores. Just in case you want to make a couple substitutions, I have several suggestions below.

HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE MARTINI

There are only four ingredients that go into this strawberry shortcake martini. You will also need a cocktail shaker and some ice. If you have a cocktail jigger, that is the best way to measure accurate amount of ingredients for a cocktail. If you don’t have one, you can use other measuring tools that show ounces and milliliters.

Combine ingredients for martini in the cocktail shaker and add a few ice cubes. Close the strainer and the lid parts on the shaker and shake vigorously and few times.

Take the lid off the strainer part and pour martini into a glass through the strainer of the shaker.

Garnish with fresh strawberries and enjoy this sweet dessert martini.

WHAT GOES INTO SHORTCAKE MARTINI

As I mentioned, there are four simple ingredients in this cocktail.

Cake Vodka

Cake Vodka is exactly what it sounds like. It’s flavored vodka that is clear in color and takes like vanilla cake with frosting. Amazingly enough, it truly does taste just like a cake. There are many brands that make cake vodka like Smirnoff, Three Olives, Pinnacle, and many more. You can choose any brand you prefer.

Strawberry Liqueur

You have a few options for strawberry liqueur and it really depends on availability. Strawberry Schnapps has a strong strawberry flavor and it has a gorgeous ruby red color. If you want the translate that beautiful color into a martini, definitely use the schnapps.

There are a few brands that specifically make strawberry liqueur but they are not as widely available. To find those, you will need to go to a liquor store with large selection, like Total Wines.

Bailey’s makes a seasonal Strawberries and Cream liqueur that would also work but the cocktail, of course, will be creamy and not clear ruby red. This option is also seasonal and not available all year long.

Juice

After testing out several different juices that have strawberry flavors, the one that we found to have the most strawberry flavor was kiwi/strawberry juice. Oddly enough, some of them taste nothing like strawberry at all.

If you don’t want to use store-bough juice, you can quickly and easily make your own. Slice strawberries and add them to a medium sized pot. Add a splash of lemon juice, vanilla, and some sugar to strawberries. Mix well and cook over medium heat, covered, for about 15 minutes.

After strawberries have been cooked, dilute it with some filtered water and strain off chunks of strawberries. You can use the juice in your cocktail.

Whipped Cream Vodka

This is another flavored vodka that can be found from any brand and is widely available. This vodka adds some smoothness and creaminess to the cocktail.

If you don’t plan to use up a whole bottle of whipped cream vodka, you can get a couple of those personalized bottles.
